ABSTRACTThis evaluation provides performance and cost data for commercially available simple-and regenerative-cycle gas turbines. Intercooled, reheat, and compound cycles are discussed from theoretical basis only, because actual units are not currently available, except on a special-order basis. Performance characteristics investigated include unit efficiency at full-load and off-design conditions, and at rated capacity. Costs are tabulated for both simple and regenerative-cycle gas turbines. The output capacity of the gas turbines investigated ranges from 80 to 134,000 HP for simple units and from 12,000 to 50,000 hp for regenerative units. |
